The Federation of Indian Associations unites various member organizations of Asian Indian origin in Central Ohio
A 100% volunteer non-profit organization, FIA-Ohio was established in 1982 to bring together all Asian Indian Associations in Central Ohio. The goal was to unite these organizations and coordinate the cultural, educational and social activities of their members. FIA sought to become a community resource for the Asian Indian population in Central Ohio.
Today, over two decades later FIA is synonymous with the word "Indian" in Central Ohio. Owing to tremendous support from the growing Indian Community and various cultural organizations, FIA has emerged as a premier organization that represents all things Indian. FIA works relentlessly to create a positive impact on all generations of Indians through its programs and promotes an exchange of diverse cultural and social concepts.
The India Festival is a one of a kind event presented annually by the Indian community in Central Ohio
Every year, the India Festival is hosted by FIA, to create awareness about Indian culture, adding to the cultural diversity of Ohio. FIA hosts many events throughout the year in Central Ohio that involve the local community in productive activities. The festival is a one of its kind event presented by Indian community annually bringing the diversity of Asian Indian culture with all its splendor and Indian entertainment to central Ohio. India festival attracts the largest gathering of the Indian community in a single event in Columbus from Ohio and surrounding states. The event is extremely popular among the locals in Columbus and surrounding areas attracting college students, faculty, health professionals, vendors from across the country, entertainers, artists, people interested in Indian culture, those seeking Indian style entertainment and ethnic artifacts.
